DeKalb County Farm Bureau’s Political Committee has endorsed Roger Scott in his re-election bid as DeKalb County Sheriff.
The endorsement of the county’s top law enforcement post is an effort by the committee to provide support for an individual’s proven track record. The DeKalb County Farm Bureau Political Committee provides the voice for agriculture on issues impacting the industry.
The Political Committee evaluated all candidates in contested races and chose to endorse only Sheriff Scott in the Primary Election.
“I believe the Committee’s action speaks for itself” stated Paul Rasmussen, chairman of Farm Bureau’s Political Committee. “This is the first time the committee has weighed in on a Primary Election due to the proven track record of an individual seeking re-election to a countywide office.”
“Sheriff Scott and his department have been very supportive of the local agricultural industry. He is a true friend to agriculture,” stated Rasmussen.
According to Rasmussen, “Our purpose for endorsing candidates is to show support for those who represent the viewpoints of agriculture and will best represent DeKalb County in these government posts. Roger’s efforts to alert the public to agricultural activity and assist with awareness issues were considered in his endorsement.”
Sheriff Scott has served as DeKalb County Sheriff for the past 24 years. He has worked in the department since 1969.
Farm Bureau’s Political Committee was established in 2004 to support candidates seeking county and state offices.
