Sheriff Scott Sworn In Dec. 1st

Sheriff Roger Scott was sworn in on December 1st at the DeKalb County Courthouse.This event marked the ninth time that Sheriff Scott has taken the Oath of Office as DeKalb County Sheriff. Unlike in past years, Sheriff Scott had to make special arrangements in order to have the traditional prayer “so help me God” included at the end.

Sheriff Scott’s oath reads: “I, ROGER A. SCOTT, having been elected to the office of DeKalb County Sheriff, in the County of DeKalb, in the State of Illinois, DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR or AFFIRM, that I will support the constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the State of Illinois and that I will perform the duties of the office of the DeKalb County Sheriff to the best of my ability so help me God.”
